Residential Real Estate Photography
A picture can mean thousands of dollars when it comes to real estate photography. I recently purchased a home and found that most photography used to capture a home and represent it online was terrible. There was only one real estate listing I saw with decent photography and I was constantly driven back to that listing even though it was on the higher end of my budget. Because there was better than average photography I made sure to schedule an appointment to see it in person and I ended up buying that home. If just slightly better than average photography can do that, imagine what a professional real estate photographer can do! According to a study by Redfin, professional real estate photography can increase the listing price of a home from $934 to $116,076. If you are a real estate listing agent, especially for higher end homes, you need to hire a photographer to market your homes. Many agencies offer programs to reimburse the cost of a photographer after the home has sold and many of the home owners that are trying to sell would be more than willing to pay a little extra to get their listing to stand out among the many homes available on the market. Here is an article from the New York Times that has interviews with real estate agents on why they hire professional photographers and some examples of the difference that makes.
